Orange recruitment have partnered with an expanding renewable energy company who is seeking a Solar PV Engineer to support the design, assessment, and delivery of commercial and utility-scale solar projects.
This role will suit someone with a strong technical foundation who enjoys working across both design and on-site activities.
Responsibilities: Design solar PV systems tailored to project requirements across commercial and large-scale developments Carry out site visits to assess suitability, including layout, structural considerations, and potential risks Prepare technical specifications, system configurations, and supporting documentation for project delivery Review energy assessments and feasibility studies to confirm project viability Monitor installation activities to ensure works are delivered in line with technical designs and quality standards Perform inspections and checks on completed systems, including grounding and overall system performance Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure alignment across all stages of delivery Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors, including oversight of installation and site works Experience: Degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) 3-5 years' experience in solar PV design, ideally including commercial or utility-scale projects Strong understanding of distributed generation and large-scale solar project delivery Experience using design and modelling tools such as Auto CAD, PVsyst, PVSol, or Helioscope Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation Professional certifications in solar PV (such as NABCEP) are advantageous
