Mason Technology is a wholly owned Irish company established in 1780, the principal activities are the distribution and supply of laboratory and analytical instruments Shimadzu Senior Technical Sales ConsultantMason Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Shimadzu Technical Sales Consultant to drive the growth of our Shimadzu Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and associated analytical solutions across Leinster, Connaught, and Northern Ireland.This is a senior, customer-facing role combining technical expertise, consultative sales, and application-level support. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Applications, Service, and Marketing teams to deliver high-value solutions and develop long-term strategic customer relationships.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentOwn and develop the Shimadzu sales pipeline within the assigned territory.Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts across pharmaceutical, biopharma, academic, environmental, and other relevant markets.Deliver consultative, solution-based selling aligned with customer applications and regulatory requirements.Support the quotation process to ensure complete, technically appropriate system configurations and accessories.Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and territory plans.Technical & Application SupportAct as a senior technical resource for customers, sales and service colleagues.Deliver product demonstrations, application discussions, and technical presentations both on-site and remotely.Work collaboratively with the team to provide application support including method development, troubleshooting, and workflow optimisation.Liaise with Shimadzu European specialists on complex customer projects and advanced applications.Collaboration & Market PresenceWork closely with Sales Management to support strategic growth initiatives and territory planning.Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, events, and technical content to strengthen market presence and thought leadership.Represent Mason Technology and Shimadzu at key industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.Stay current with pharmacopeia updates, regulatory trends, and emerging technologies relevant to the portfolio.Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills RequiredThird-level qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.Strong technical knowledge of Liquid and/or Gas Chromatography; Mass Spectrometry experience is highly advantageous.Prior experience with Shimadzu instrumentation or chromatography data systems (CDS). Advantageous but not essential. Proven experience in technical sales, applications, or senior field-based roles within analytical instrumentation.Ability to engage confidently with customers at all levels, from lab analysts to senior management.Self-motivated, commercially astute, and capable of working independently within a defined territory.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Full, clean driving licence.What's Important to UsA flexible, positive attitude towards work.Customer focused.
