Apprentice / Junior Electric Scooter Mechanic
Location: Dublin 15
Reports to: Repair Centre Team Leader
About the Role
We're looking for someone practical, curious, and hands-on to join our busy Repair Centre as an Apprentice/Junior Mechanic. This role is perfect for a person who enjoys figuring out how things work, likes using tools, and wants to build real mechanical skills with a long-term career path.
You'll start by assisting our mechanics with basic repairs and quality-control checks, and quickly progress to completing common repair tasks independently — including punctures, brake adjustments, tyre changes, and general mechanical fixes.
We will provide full training and a structured development roadmap to bring you to the level of a fully-qualified electric scooter mechanic.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out basic mechanical repairs under instruction (e.g., punctures, brake adjustments, tyre replacements).
* Support senior mechanics with more complex jobs while learning the processes.
* Perform quality-control checks on completed repairs to ensure high standards.
* Follow established workflows and instructions from the Repair Centre Team Leader.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
* Assist with intake, tagging, and prepping of scooters for repair.
* Work positively and collaboratively within a small team.
What We're Looking For
* Someone practical who enjoys working with their hands.
* Basic familiarity with tools — you should know how to safely use screwdrivers, Allen keys, spanners, etc.
* Any prior experience in mechanical work, repairs, bicycles, automotive, DIY, or electronics is a strong advantage.
* A willingness and ability to learn quickly.
* Good attention to detail and pride in doing things correctly.
* Ability to follow instructions and take direction from experienced mechanics.
* Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
* A positive attitude and the ability to get on well with the wider team.
What We Offer
* Full training provided — no electric scooter experience required.
* Clear structured progression: Apprentice → Junior Mechanic → Mechanic → Senior Mechanic.
* Long-term career prospects in a rapidly growing industry.
* Supportive team environment with experienced mechanics who will mentor you.
* Competitive salary depending on experience.
* Great staff discounts and benefits.
Who This Role Suits
This is ideal for someone who:
* Wants to build a trade-like skillset.
* Is mechanically minded or enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together.
* Maybe hasn't had the chance yet to get formal mechanical experience — but has the aptitude and motivation to learn.
