Role Overview:
As the Quality Assurance Officer at Nxtgen Ltd, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of all fabricated glazing and sheet metal products. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining QA procedures across the production lifecycle — from raw material intake to final inspection and dispatch — ensuring all output meets internal standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements (including CWCT and CE/UKCA compliance).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control and Inspection
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated components and assemblies.
• Perform dimensional and visual checks against approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure traceability and documentation of all inspections and tests performed.
1. QA System Management
• Maintain and improve QA processes, documentation, and checklists across glazing and sheet metal departments.
• Oversee non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective/preventative actions.
• Manage calibration and maintenance of measuring tools and QA equipment.
1. Compliance and Standards
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA marking, and project-specific technical standards.
• Support internal and external audits, and prepare documentation for project closeouts and third-party certification.
• Liaise with Eirefacades (client) to ensure Nxtgen QA outputs align with project-specific requirements.
1. Communication and Reporting
• Work closely with the Production Manager, Leading Hands, Programmers, and Dispatch Team to monitor quality performance.
• Produce daily QA reports and escalate any deviations from quality standards.
• Provide feedback and training to production teams on recurring quality issues or process improvements.
1. Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and quality benchmarks.
• Identify trends in production errors or reworks and recommend efficiency and quality enhancements.
• Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives within the factory.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in metal or glazing fabrication.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, tolerances, and fabrication methods.
• Familiarity with CE/UKCA marking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of using QA databases and digital inspection forms.
• High attention to detail, structured thinker, and effective communicator.
• Experience using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) and reading technical documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 is advantageous.
Qualifications:
• Degree or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Internal Auditor, Six Sigma, ISO9001 Lead Auditor) are desirable.
