As we continue to grow and expand, we now have a fantastic opportunity within Tierney's and are recruiting for a
Technical Lead.
Based in our offices in Ennis, Co.
Clare, this is a hybrid role and there will be occasions where site visits to customers will be required.
What will the role involve?
Project Delivery and Communication
You are responsible for consistently delivering high-quality projects, prioritising customers, and
ensuring clear communication within the organisation and with clients.
Always keep clients updated
throughout the project lifecycle.
End-to-End Project Management and Technical Leadership
You are responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of all assigned projects.
This includes
providing technical leadership and guidance to junior project engineers.
When required, you will
attend customer sites to assist and mentor project delivery teams, ensuring that the highest quality
standards are achieved in all project work.
Project Planning, Scheduling, and Tracking
You will manage and update project tracking tickets on a daily basis.
This involves planning and
ensuring the effective utilisation of project workloads and schedules to maximise team efficiency
and meet project deadlines.
Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders
Work closely with internal teams—such as the Project Manager, Engineers, Service Delivery
Manager, Account Managers, and Pre-Sales—to plan, design, and maintain technical solutions that
meet client needs.
Coordinate with vendors and IT staff to resolve issues, handle escalations from
helpdesk and field engineers, and provide weekly project updates to TAMs and SR TLs.
Documentation and Reporting
You will assist in preparing customer-specific and application-specific documentation, standards, and
reports.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all supporting documentation is updated promptly
and maintained to a high standard.
This enables supporting teams to efficiently access the
information required to address any incidents reported by clients after project delivery.
Technical Support
You are expected to provide on-call technical support to customers outside of standard business
hours, ensuring continuity of service and prompt resolution of technical issues as they arise.
Client Relationship Management
Maintaining strong relationships with key customer contacts is a vital part of your role.
You will
provide technical input and expertise as needed to support these ongoing relationships.
Professional Development
You are encouraged to continue developing both your technical and organisational skills.
Participation in vendor and product training as required is essential to remain current with industry
developments and maintain a high level of professional competence.
Desired candidates' qualifications, technical and soft skills:
· Third Level qualification in Information Technology, computer science or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a similar role.
· Proven experience of working with the full suite of Microsoft products
· Project Management skills, has the capacity to efficiently handle multiple projects of varying sizes and stages and maintain excellent attention to details.
· Customer focused and prides themselves in the delivery of excellent service.
· Strong technical skills, possess the ability to learn new technologies quickly and stay updated with current technologies in relevant areas.
· Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical parties.
· Willingness to take ownership of issues and see them through to completion
·
Be available to work out of hours – evenings and weekends on a rostered basis
· Full, clean, Irish/EU driving licence.
