Professionally Qualified Social Worker
Permanent Contract
28.5 hours per week

Overall Purpose of Position:
The post holder will be responsible for the multi-faceted provision of a Social Work service via Adult Social Work Team as well as maintaining the currently Home Sharing service within CoAction. This role includes maintaining the Home Sharing Service, Social Work assessment and intervention to Adults accessing the service meeting the ongoing complex and challenging needs of adults and supporting their family and families. It also includes acting Designated Officer role.

Role Responsibilities:
- To support and maintain the Home Sharing service.
- Act up as Designated Officer.
- To promote and deliver services within the ethos and philosophy of CoAction, working as part of an
interdisciplinary team providing services to children, adults and their families.
- To provide a range of social work assessments and ongoing services to children, adults and families attending
the service.
- To complete social work reports.
- To undertake shorter and longer term social work support on an individual, group and family basis with special
emphasis on disability.
- Facilitate and support group work and trainings.
- To complete work as directed by the Senior Social Worker.
Working Hours:
28.5 hours a week (Mon-Thur 9 am to 5 pm)
Base:
Dunmanway's Children's Services Building, Dunmanway, Co. Cork.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications:
- MSW or CQSW or a Letter of Accreditation issued by the National Social Work Qualifications Board (NSWQB).
- Be registered with CORU.
- Be registered with CORU (Social Workers Register).
- Full driving licence which qualifies them to drive on Irish Roads with means of transport.
Experience:
- Previous relevant experience of working with children and adults with an intellectual disability and their families is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability)
for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
- Organisational skills.
- Initiative.
- Team Worker.
Other Requirements:
Be available for flexible working hours to fit in with the needs of the Home Sharing and Social Work Services.
