The National Disability Authority (NDA) is an independent statutory body providing evidence-informed advice and guidance to the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) on policy and practice relating to persons with disabilities.
Our Key Functions
1. We act as a central national body assisting the Minister in coordinating and developing disability policy.
2. We undertake, commission, or collaborate in research projects and activities.
3. We assist in developing statistical information for planning, delivery, and monitoring of disability programs and services.
4. We advise the Minister on standards for disability programs and services, preparing codes of practice, and monitoring their implementation.
5. We monitor employment of people with disabilities in the public sector.
6. We promote universal design through the Centre of Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD), ensuring products, services, and environments are accessible and usable by all.
About the Role
* As a Research Officer – Higher Executive Officer (Standard), you will contribute to our work in advising officials in DCEDIY and other Government Departments, and directly advising the Minister.
