Job Opportunity
* We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* This role involves driving supplier performance, cost control, and inventory optimisation across a global supply chain.
* The ideal candidate will have strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience negotiating international supplier agreements and logistics contracts.
* They should also possess excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Responsibilities include monitoring and delivering departmental KPIs on on-time delivery, supplier performance, stock levels, and cost savings.
* Additional tasks include implementing and overseeing Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) strategies with key vendors, identifying and delivering freight cost savings and stock reduction initiatives.
* Other duties include overseeing purchase order creation, approvals, and compliance with company policy, as well as maintaining and evolving procurement processes in line with ISO and QMS standards.
* Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and warehousing teams to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability.
* Strong mentorship and development of purchasing team members is also expected.
Requirements
* A degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is required.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in purchasing and procurement leadership, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proven track record in supplier management, cost reduction, and achieving performance targets.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, is also required.
