Job Description
The successful candidate will be employed as a Metrology Specialist with a focus on quality control within the Quality Department and will report directly to the Department Manager or his/her delegate.
The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Liaising and communicating with personnel and departments within the organisation and any external companies.
* Investigating quality and production issues.
* Striving to drive continuous improvement in quality processes.
* Supporting and developing quality management systems.
* Maintaining and preserving metrology equipment in line with relevant internal and external standards.
* Providing leadership in problem solving and technical expertise.
* Responsible for developing and implementing measurement systems.
* Working closely with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve measurement issues.
* Playing a key role in maintaining the quality and reliability of products.
* Developing and maintaining documentation and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in metrology.
* Using appropriate tools to facilitate root cause analysis and verify timely corrective actions for quality issues.
* Promoting the use of continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, 5 S, Visual Workplace.
* Undertaking special projects as required and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
* Performing regular audits of measurement systems.
* Analysing measurement data and generating reports.
* Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Coordinating with external calibration service providers.
* Ensuring accurate and timely completion of projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A third level qualification in Engineering related field or proven work experience in a similar role is preferred.
Proficiency with metrology software and tools is essential.
Experience working in an office and steel fabrication assembly environment is advantageous.
More than two years' experience in a similar role is required.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary.
Experience with quality control and assurance processes is desirable.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
Effective communication skills are required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
