Arcadis are seeking a Turnaround (T/A) Mechanical Lead for an Oil & Gas assignment located in Whitegate, Cork. This is initially a 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of turnaround mechanical activities, including scope definition, planning, scheduling, procurement, execution, and documentation. Acting as the principal liaison between the turnaround team and the maintenance department, the T/A Mechanical Lead will ensure all mechanical work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities

Gather and define mechanical scope, review lessons learned, and implement improvements for turnaround events.
Develop detailed job plans, coordinate procurement of materials and services, and participate in vendor/contractor selection.
Oversee material tracking, storage, and distribution in conjunction with other discipline leads.
Lead squad reviews of piping fabrication drawings and validate piping material take-offs (MTOs).
Establish manpower, tooling, and equipment requirements, ensuring resources are in place for turnaround execution.
Participate in planning, risk reviews, and contractor meetings with a focus on safety and quality.
Monitor daily progress during execution, proactively addressing schedule concerns and resource allocation.
Lead the planning and execution of emergent work, ensuring all unplanned activities are captured and managed.
Oversee post-turnaround activities including contractor demobilisation, completion of outstanding work, and documentation of lessons learned.

Requirements

Recognised trade qualification or relevant engineering degree
5+ years of mechanical maintenance or turnaround experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industry
Proven experience in leading turnaround or major maintenance events
Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration abilities
Eligibility to work in Ireland (please note: no sponsorship provided)
