Fire Safety Specialist Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established public organization within the healthcare sector. The role will be based in an office located just outside of Cork City Centre.
The organization provides a range of professional services including fire and safety, project management, and property services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on large public works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, means of escape, and all fire-fighting equipment ensuring that it is properly located, well-marked, in good repair and in good working order.
2. Review and develop fire orders including evacuation schemes for various types of building and institution with particular regard to mentally ill and non-ambulant patients.
3. Conduct routine inspection of places premises which present a special risk of fire reporting any breaches of the fire prevention code.
4. Instruct staff on avoidance of fire hazards summoning operation assistance from emergency services if necessary as well as arranging regular drills
5. Curtail spread evacuate danger areas pending arrival emergency responders monitoring water supply sufficient volume pressure firefighting purposes identifying hydrants advising implementation regulation guidelines maintain records ensure safe adequate means escape kept operative clearly indicated ensuring state service three monthly intervals senior manager reports.
