Job Description
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in the daily operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.
You will help ensure the store remains a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Serve customers with passion and pride, providing natural, great service.
* Encourage customer feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
* Work across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines.
* Follow training to work safely.
* Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Be knowledgeable about store performance and contribute to profit delivery.
* Follow company policies, live our values, and make everyone feel welcome.
* Clock in and out accurately to ensure correct payment.
* Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available.
* Follow the 'think 25' policy when serving age-restricted products.
* Respond promptly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized store environment.
* At times, manage the shift in the absence of a Shift Leader or Store Manager.
* Complete all training to ensure safety and legal compliance.
Note: If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include daily operations of the Post Office, requiring passing a background check. If checks fail, the job offer will be withdrawn.

One Stop Stores Limited operates over 1,000 convenience stores across Great Britain, employing more than 10,500 colleagues. Our stores are open daily from 7am to 10pm, offering a wide range of products and services including cash machines, Post Office, PayPoint, lottery, and vending solutions. We are a subsidiary of Tesco, operating independently from our Support Centre in Brownhills, Walsall, with distribution centers in Brownhills, Nursling, and Wakefield.
