We are currently assisting our client based in Dublin 18 to identifying a
Senior Network and Security Engineer to join their network and security our team as a Network and Security Architect.
This position is to be one of the contributors to the global network team and develop the strategy to support the transformation to cloud services and a zero-trust security framework.
This is a tremendous opportunity to participate in the development of the next-generation security architecture.
Ideal candidates will have a well-rounded knowledge of network perimeter security, network segmentation, zero-trust network access, and cloud security.
This role will be heavily focused on project work, they have several firewall replacement projects from SonicWall to Palo Alto, this will be included traveling to customer sites for implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide SASE solutions (ZTNA, CASB, SWG, SD-WAN, FWaaS).
Develop secure network architectures that support hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Define security reference architectures aligned with best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO *****, CIS).
Strategy & Governance
Act as a subject matter expert on network security, identity, and zero-trust principles.
Contribute to cybersecurity strategy, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
Develop and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and policies.
Implementation & Delivery
Partner with engineering and operations teams to deliver secure solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., XDR, AI-driven security, SSE platforms) and integrate where relevant.
Support security operations with threat modelling and incident response from an architectural perspective.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work with business leaders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure effective security outcomes.
Present architectural decisions and roadmaps to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and security, preferably in an IT managed services environment.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
Key Requirements:
Strong knowledge of SASE technologies (SD-WAN, ZTNA, CASB, SWG, FWaaS).
Deep understanding of network security, firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and zero trust frameworks
Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP) and secure hybrid architectures.
Familiarity with identity & access management (IAM, MFA, conditional access).
Proficiency in enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, BGP, OSPF)
Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Cato, Versa, Fortinet)
Understanding of DevSecOps, automation (Terraform, Ansible), and API integration.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO *****, NIST CSF, GDPR, SOC2).
Full driving licence is essential.
