Trainee Ophthalmic Assistant/ Administration Assistant

PAY:

14.7€ per hour

Part time:

27 hours per week

Days of the week:

Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday availability

Location:

between the 2 clinics in Mullingar and Dublin

Other requirement:

1- Having own car, valid full driving licence

2- Garda Vetting

3- references x 2 from previous employers including last employer

Clinical duties (full training will be provided):

* Perform complete ophthalmic history and preliminary exams.
* Perform pre-exam testing to include visual acuity assessment, including pinhole, visual field testing, pupillary dilation, and all other patient services as requested by the Consultant including special tests.
* Perform and specialised testing such as visual fields, ophthalmic photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), Optical Biometry of different model types.
* Administering medications and topical treatments.
* Performs set standard number of patient work-ups based on established times while maintaining quality of customer service.
* Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by consultant.
* Assist with maintenance of clinical examination equipment.
* Check expiration date and inventory as necessary.
* Open and close exam rooms daily, ensuring that equipment is wiped down in an appropriate manner, battery powered instruments are seated properly in re-charge wells and slit lamps are switched off under covers.
* Follow all safety procedures as per guidelines.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills as well as a neat and professional appearance.

Administration duties:

* Managing a busy clinical & surgical appointment schedule.
* Processing insurance billing forms and invoices for all surgical and clinical procedures.
* Updating our practice management system with appointment and patient details
* Live scheduling of clinical and surgical appointments efficiently.
* Accurate data entry of patient information into various systems
* Deal with a high-level volume of calls in a timely and efficient manner.
* Working to strict process protocols to ensure patients receive the best standard of care.
* Ensure all patients receive the highest level of service from the practice before and after their consultations and surgeries.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term, Specified-purpose

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: €14.70 per hour

Expected hours: 27 per week
