Job Description
This role requires the Duty Manager to oversee the smooth operation of the hotel, focusing on Food and Beverage services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistency in service, quality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
1. Staff Induction: Ensure all staff have completed proper induction into their roles as per company policy.
2. Staff Management: Direct and control staff to ensure efficient running of the hotel.
3. Cross-Training: Promote a cross-training approach to multi-skill the team, providing flexibility to the business.
4. Service Standards: Maintain a presence within service areas to ensure standards are being met.
5. Staffing Levels: Be aware of optimum staffing levels, ensuring they reflect the business with focus on wage %.
6. Weekly Rota: Produce and present a weekly rota to the GM by Thursday, based on forecasted business for the following week.
7. Budgeting: Work with the GM in setting budgets for F&B departments.
8. Interviewing: Be involved in the interviewing and selection process.
9. Menu Creation: Work with senior management to create menus and costings to achieve agreed % GP.
10. Upselling: Train the team on upselling techniques, highlighting benefits to both the business and customer experience.
11. Guest Feedback: Monitor guest feedback and act on positive and negative comments to improve where necessary.
12. Sales Performance: Be aware of sales against forecast and identify areas for sales opportunities to maximize revenue.
13. Events Promotion: Work with the Marketing team to promote events, internal and external.
14. Hospitality Operations: Liaise with other HODs to ensure all departments are working together and up to date information is shared.
15. Health and Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all staff and guests.
16. Duty Management: Accept control of the day-to-day running of the hotel while on duty, ensuring all areas are ready for business and prepared for the next day's operations.
The successful candidate will possess leadership skills, with experience in Food and Beverage stock control.
