The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, reliable data pipelines that support both product functionality and internal analytics.
This is a hands-on role within a small engineering team, offering broad exposure across data, security, and software development.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integrations
Develop and optimise data models and storage solutions
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
Apply secure data handling and access control practices
Collaborate with software engineers and product teams
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing data workflows
Support compliance with data protection and security requirements (e.g. GDPR)
Maintain clear documentation of data processes and architecture
Required Experience & Skills
Experience in a Data Engineer or similar role
Strong SQL and database design skills
Experience using Python or similar languages for data processing
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Understanding of data security and privacy principles
Experience working with version control systems (Git)
Comfortable working in a small, agile team
Desirable / Nice to Have
Background in data security, privacy, or compliance-focused environments
Experience with streaming or real-time data systems (e.g. Kafka)
Familiarity with data warehouses and analytics platforms
Knowledge of DevOps or infrastructure automation tools
