We provide frontline services, practical supports, pathways towards recovery and innovative responses to the issues of drug use and homelessness in Ireland, working with a harm reduction ethos.

Our Volunteer Barber will support the Riverbank OAS team in supporting our clients. This role involves working with clients to help build self-esteem within a welcoming and safe environment.
We are seeking Volunteers for a 2-4 hour shift, 1 day a week, with a minimum commitment of 12 months.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Read and sign the Volunteer Agreement and code of conduct.
* Get to know the Service and our Clients through the MQI induction and training.
* Manage the Riverbank OAS Hairdressing salon during your shifts, chat with clients, wash, cut, and style hair, offer hair care advice.
* Engage with Jane’s Place clients in a welcoming and supportive manner.
* Maintain high personal hygiene standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
* Report faulty equipment and participate as a team member.
* Carry out additional duties as required by your line manager.
* Develop working relationships with clients and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
* Attend support and supervision sessions and complete all administrative requirements.
* Adhere to confidentiality and the organisation's Code of Conduct.
Volunteer Skills
* Empathetic, non-judgemental, patient, and supportive.
* Reliable, flexible, willing to help out, and open to learning new skills.
* Garda clearance and two references are required.
Qualifications
Qualified Barber/Hairdresser with own kit.
Location: MQI, Riverbank OAS, Merchants Quay, Dublin 8.
