Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Newtownards
Salary: £19.32 p/h
Hours: 37 hours p/w
Duration: Initial 3 month contract- Potential Extension
The Role
Providing Quantity Surveying Service.
Assisting the Contract Manager in the managing of the Estates Measured Term and Term Service Building Maintenance and Minor Works Projects
Managing and Procurement of service and maintenance contracts
Key Duties
Preparing minor capital works estimates for Trust Departments
Managing NEC4 TSC Contracts and MTC Contracts
Management and ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements through the lifecycle of the Contracts
Conduct cost and risk analysis
Review all incoming correspondence from Contractors, Estate Officers, Design Team to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
Manage commercial aspects of contracts
Provide project costing
Manage project change order procedures and agree costs with Contractors
Set-up and maintain a range of MTC / TSC for Estates usage and ensure both VFM and quantity are measured
To agree with Estates Contract Manager a number of key performance indicators / benchmarks for procurement and the management of plant and medical equipment arrangements
Essential Criteria
2 years’ experience: Preparing account valuations using Published Schedule of Rates
Managing Building Maintenance NEC4 TSC/TSSC Contracts and/or GC Works 7 Measured Term Service Contracts
Preparing Tender Documentation
A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying RICS accredited degree and 2 years’ post graduate experience
A BEng (Hons) in Mechanical or Electrical or Building Services or Civil Engineering with 2 years’ post graduate experience in building maintenance NEC4 TSC Contracts or GC Works 7 Measured Term Service Contracts
Or
Associate Member of the RICS (AssocRICS) with 3 years’ experience working within TSC Contracts
Or
Chartered Quantity Surveyor
Or
HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline i.e. electrical, mechanical and/or building services plus 3 years relevant post-qualification in-depth, specialist experience*
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post
