TJ O' Mahony, Ballymount Retail Centre, Ballymount, Dublin 24, D24 X39K part of HPC Sales Ltd., Irelands' leading Building Materials Providers and Home Improvement/DIY Store, is looking for a full-time, Permanent Health & Safety Officer to join our Team.
Job Purpose: Manage the Health & Safety function in the workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and Guidelines established by regulatory bodies.
2. Advising on safety measures.
3. Liaising with Branch Managers on Health and Safety within each Branch.
4. Conducting risk assessments and site inspections to identify work areas that pose threats to life and property.
5. Enforcing preventative measures.
6. Monitoring work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breaches of safety regulations.
7. Consulting with employees, developing risk controls and providing education and training.
8. Conducting equipment inspections to ensure correctly installed and operational.
9. Facilitate and schedule repairs of unsafe or damaged equipment.
10. Carrying out regular Branch visits and Racking inspections.
11. Investigating accidents to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions to improve overall safety.
12. Liaising with the HR Department as necessary.
13. Keeping up to date records of reported incidents, accidents and investigations.
14. Oversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal procedures.
15. Prepare and present to company management periodic report of safety operations.
16. Use of the company's Health and Safety IT system.
17. Monitoring of administration within the Health & Safety Department.
18. Assisting with safety management system audits.
19. Responsible for identifying and reporting non-compliance with company policy.
Other Duties As Required By Business Needs.
Requirements:
1. Educated to Degree level in Health & Safety or related discipline.
2. Organisational Skills And Problem Solving Abilities.
3. Strong communication and leadership skills.
An attractive remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
