We are seeking an enthusiastic NPD Technologist to join our client's dynamic innovation team in Co.Cork.You'll play a key role in the development and delivery of high-quality branded and private label food products for the Irish and European retail markets.This cross-functional position works closely with Technical, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure that all new products are commercially viable, technically sound, and compliant with industry standards.Please note there will be a minimum requirement to travel at least twice per week to Bantry and the remainder of week can be spent in Cork City.Pending a 6 month successful probation period this requirement will be reduced to 1-2 days minimum per week spent in Bantry with the remainder spent in the City.Access to your own transport is essential for this opportunity.Salary:€40k, DOE, can be increased for more experienced candidatesKey Responsibilities:Lead and support New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects from concept through to launch.Ensure that all new and updated products meet consumer expectations and internal quality standards.Drive innovation and product renovation initiatives while adhering to brand and customer requirements.Coordinate daily NPD activities, including line extensions, pack resizing, and product reformulations.Manage projects in line with stage gate and Lean NPD methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver commercially sound, compliant, and cost-effective product solutions.Ensure 100% adherence to relevant policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BRC, HACCP, allergen management).Support customer engagement by presenting NPD concepts and updates at key account meetings.Continuously monitor product and process performance, driving improvement and innovation.Translate business priorities into actionable development goals, aligning with cost and quality objectives.Requirements:A third-level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or Food Business.Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a relevant role within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector (e.g., Technical, Quality, Development).Strong background in project planning, management, and cross-functional coordination.In-depth understanding of food safety standards, technical systems, and industry regulations.Passion for food, particularly seafood, and a keen interest in emerging food trends.Knowledge of customer specification systems (e.g., TTL, HG, Igloo or equivalents).Proficiency in benchmarking, cost modelling, and supplier negotiation.Ability to adapt to flexible working hours and occasional travel requirements.At Quorum Search Partners we respect your privacy.
