SENIOR CONTRACTS MANAGER / QUANTITY SURVEYOR Role Reporting to the Commission Manager, the role provides senior commercial, contractual, and project oversight across tunnel, motorway, and service area operations.
Role in managing NEC4 and PPP contracts, overseeing contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and safety obligations.
The role operates within a small core team, drawing on specialist resources as required.
Responsibilities Provide senior oversight of NEC4 and PPP contract administration, including payments, variations, compensation events, and task orders; Lead monitoring of contractor performance, contractual compliance, and service delivery; Oversee project and programme costs, assess payment submissions, and ensure financial control and value for money; Provide expert advice on contract interpretation, commercial risk, and dispute avoidance; Lead the review and assessment of contractor claims, variations, and cost submissions; Oversee lifecycle renewal and upgrade activities impacting tunnel and motorway assets; Ensure compliance with Tunnel Safety Directive obligations and relevant regulatory requirements; Lead and coordinate audits, inspections, and performance reviews of contractor services, reporting findings and recommendations; Provide programme and project management oversight for client schemes impacting operational assets; Drive early identification and resolution of commercial, contractual, and programme risks; Mentor and provide oversight to junior team members; Provide ad hoc strategic commercial and contractual advice to the client as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A level eight QQI / relevant qualification in surveying, engineering or construction management; 10+ years Exp.
