Senior Product Development Manager
The role of a Senior Product Development Manager is crucial in the creation and documentation of design processes for products within the company. This individual will be instrumental in developing and delivering high-quality product design projects, including product definition and design phases, concessions, and production permits.
This key position requires the ability to design, prototype, assess, and review mechanical components and assemblies. Additionally, this person will provide support in product acceptance, testing, and validation activities.
They will participate in requirements and design review meetings, undertaking analysis of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, as well as manufacturing and assembly processes.
This manager will oversee and participate in prototyping activities, supporting the design, manufacturing, and shop floor activity when required.
Providing technical support for the company's product range across manufacturing, development, and procurement, they will also offer engineering support for material selection during the design and development phase, including the design and development of tests to verify performance.
Technical assistance will be provided to both external and internal customers, with the possibility of joining company representatives at customer sites as and when required, supporting the cross-functional team in problem solving and troubleshooting.
They must maintain a high level of technical knowledge coupled with ongoing professional development, for the joint benefit of the job holder and the business.
About You:
* A degree in Engineering or equivalent, ideally with experience in heavy equipment.
* Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Pro-Engineer, and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
* Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems, along with a diligent approach to the design and development process.
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation and structural calculations for design analysis.
* Good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in, along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
* Creativity and innovative thinking, with experience with Oracle TMS being a plus.
* Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, good presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Key skills include:

o Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
