Resident Engineer | Dublin Vickerstock Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy to support the appointment of an experienced Resident Engineer on a 24-month contract to contribute to the successful delivery of a major civil infrastructure programme. This is a substantive site-based contract position offering stability, variety and the opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving quality, compliance and progress across a significant project. Your new role as Resident Engineer You will be based on site and work alongside the wider side team to ensure will act as the works are constructed in accordance with the contract documents, drawings, specifications and relevant standards. Key responsibilities will include: Acting as the Resident Engineer on site, delivering daily oversight of civil and infrastructure construction works. Monitoring contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, drawings and specifications. Supervising quality control, programme adherence and ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are maintained. Liaising regularly with the contractor, design team, client representatives and statutory bodies. Reviewing and approving method statements, inspection/test plans and other site documentation. Preparing and maintaining detailed site records, daily reports and photographic logs. Measuring works and assisting with contract administration and reporting. Identifying potential issues on site and driving proactive resolutions with the project team. You will be expected to use your initiative, communicate clearly and act decisively in supporting robust, high-quality project delivery throughout the full duration of the contract. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this Resident Engineer contract position, you'll ideally demonstrate: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Proven experience in Resident Engineer, Site Engineer or site supervision roles on civil/infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of civil construction practices, contract compliance and quality control. Experience preparing and reviewing site reports, method statements and inspection records. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. A proactive, organised and solutions-orientated approach to site challenges. Familiarity with standard contracts and knowledge of health & safety regulations on live construction sites would be advantageous. What's in it for you?
