Location: The Quay
The 4-star Maritime Hotel in Bantry, certified as a Great Place to Work, is seeking an enthusiastic and hands‑on Assistant Bar Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of our bar and ensure every guest has a memorable experience. If you’re passionate about hospitality, have a keen eye for detail, and know how to inspire a team, we’d love to hear from you!
Requirements: at least 2 years of bartending experience in a fast‑paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Bar Manager in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Manage and motivate bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with licensing laws.
* Assist in managing stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
* Train and develop team members to deliver consistent quality.
* Handle customer queries, feedback, and resolve issues effectively.
* Contribute to cocktail/menu development and promotions to drive sales.
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working behind the bar in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
* Previous management or supervisory experience in a bar or hospitality setting.
* Strong knowledge of drinks, cocktails, and bar operations.
* Excellent customer service skills with a guest‑first attitude.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Confidence in leading a team while working collaboratively.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Proactive, enthusiastic approach and ability to maintain a high‑energy atmosphere.
