Workshop Controller
This is an exciting opportunity to manage and develop a workshop team, providing technical support to staff and customers.
About the Role:
* Lead a team of technicians and oversee the front-of-house teams within the service department.
* Ensure maximum utilisation and quality from the workshop and achieve customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Manage service and repair work in the workshop to maximise service sales and profitability.
* Control the workshop through efficient operation of the planner and loading the work for each technician.
* Maximise profitability by driving workshop hours and be responsible for workshop loading, utilisation, efficiency productivity and technicians' clocked time on each job.
* Deliver high-quality work with a first-time resolution for every repair.
* Process information on work carried out to customer vehicles.
* Communicate with Service Advisers or customers to ensure clarity on instructions.
* Meet personally with customers to help identify problems such as intermittent faults.
* Maintain workshop housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable ability to meet and exceed targets.
* Strong technical knowledge.
* Previous experience in a similar or technical role is essential.
* People management experience overseeing a large team.
* Qualified Technician/Mechanic with certificates desirable.
* Effective persuasion skills and high levels of managerial ability.
* IT Literacy including Microsoft Office suite.
* Self-motivating and able to manage own workload.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* A friendly and professional manner.
* Highly organised and focused.
* Ability to work equally well alone and as part of a wider team.
* Excellent numerical skills.
* Full driving license.
