Role Purpose The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering, project management, and procurement processes used in delivering datacentre fitout solutions meet required quality, compliance, and performance standards.
This officebased role oversees process quality controls, supports crossfunctional project delivery teams, manages supplier quality assurance, and ensures documentation, workflows, and outputs meet internal and customerspecific requirements.
The role is critical in enabling the company to deliver consistent, highquality datacentre projects, reduce defects and rework, enhance supplier reliability, and maintain robust quality governance across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering - Project Management Quality Assurance Support quality controls across engineering workflows, including approvals, and document control.
Provide governance and support to ensure engineering outputs meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
Conduct quality checks on drawings, technical submissions, engineering control of change, and design documentation.
Support structured risk management activities (dFMEA, PFMEA, design verifications).
Monitor compliance with ISO ****, ISO ***** and internal SOPs related to engineering processes.
Control of documented information for engineering and customer information for all projects ensuring documentation is complete, structured, and compliant with contract requirements.
Support engineering in establishing quality plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and QA checklists for all product families offered.
Audit project management processes, including planning, scheduling, change management, and project reporting.
Track NCRs, corrective actions, preventive actions, and lessons learned across projects.
Monitor adherence to stagegate reviews, technical submissions, and deliverable timelines.
2. Procurement Supplier Quality Management Ensure procurement processes adhere to approved vendor criteria, documentation requirements, and compliance checks.
Work with the supply chain team to qualify new suppliers and evaluate supplier performance.
Review supplier documentation (CoCs, test reports, specifications, warranty packs).
Lead supplier NCR management and drive rootcause analysis and corrective action plans.
Support the procurement team with technical quality requirements for purchased materials, equipment, and subcontracted works.
3. Documentation, Compliance Audit Support Ensure there are accurate and auditready quality records across all business functions.
Manage document control for quality procedures, templates, checklists, and workflows.
Prepare for internal and external audits (ISO ****, customer audits, compliance audits).
Support tender and customer documentation requirements relating to quality processes.
Ensure quality documentation is versioncontrolled, accessible, and aligned with company standards.
4. Continuous Improvement Governance Identify opportunities to streamline quality processes and improve crossdepartmental consistency.
Develop quality dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms.
Lead or support improvement initiatives (Lean, 5 Whys, RCA, CAPA).
Provide training to engineering, project, and procurement teams on quality standards and best practices.
Promote a culture of quality and operational excellence across the organisation.
Skills Experience Essential Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience in an engineering or projectbased quality role (preferably in construction, MEP, or technical industries).
Strong understanding of quality management systems and process controls.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and supplier documentation.
Proficiency with quality tools: RCA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA, CAPA.
Excellent documentation, organisational, and analytical skills.
Desirable Experience in datacentre, modular construction, or MEP manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ISO ****, ISO *****, EN ****, or similar frameworks.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and systems (e.g., stagegate, PMO frameworks).
Understanding of procurement quality, vendor assessment, and supplychain processes.
Knowledge of Lean principles or process improvement frameworks.
