EHS Professional Role
The role of EHS Specialist is a key position within our organization, focusing on ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and the environment at a Bulk Chemical Manufacturing site in Dublin.
For this position, we are seeking an individual with a strong background in environmental science or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in Pharma, Med-Dev, Food, or Beverage Production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and monitor environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with legislative regulations.
2. Support the development and implementation of an EHSS integrated management system.
3. Conduct risk assessments for various operations, equipment, and tasks, and implement associated risk controls where necessary.
4. Collaborate closely with other EHS specialists across the site.
5. Provide support to the Director of EHS to ensure site compliance with HAS, OSHA, EPA, and corporate requirements.
6. Promote safety awareness among all staff through training and promotion, working closely with departmental managers.
7. Conduct regular inspections and internal assessments to identify existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
8. Lead EHS projects to completion and provide support to accident investigations and incident prevention opportunities.
9. Ensure EHS awareness through coordinating participation in events, including Safety Week and Safety Walks.
10. Maintain comprehensive administrative filing systems, including archival and storage inventories, according to good practices.
11. Develop, establish, and conduct training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices.
12. Create and update EHS programs, procedures, and supporting materials as required.
13. Provide guidance and support to colleagues and service providers on EHS issues.
14. Implement correct reporting and investigation processes for all EHS incidents.
15. Monitor environmental performance in compliance with operating permits and report to management, employees, and relevant statutory agencies as needed.
16. Lead by example and model good safety behavior and environmental practices to develop a high-performing EHS culture on site.
17. Attend daily operational meetings, provide support, and drive EHS at these meetings.
18. Coordinate regular touchpoints for Site steering team, First aid team, & Emergency Response team.
