Grove Turkeys farm is currently seeking for a NPD Technologist to join our dynamic team to be based in Smithboro, Co. Monaghan. The NPD Technologist will be responsible for delivering the experimental design and industrial trial phases of projects and other team support activities contributing to the continued growth of the business.
Role Responsibilities & Duties
* Assist the Project Manager in the re-formulation of current products and assessment of alternative materials.
* You will be expected to be a lead member for Technical and providing NPD support to Production during trials and production commissioning.
* Preparation & make up of recipes in the kitchen within strict recipe specifications.
* Designs and executes experimentation/trials in addition to designing new or improved methodologies and procedures to conduct validations and experimental testing.
* Develops expertise on process and analytical methodologies.
* Preparation & Cooking of Products for Internal Tasting Sessions.
* Conduct regular, routine taste panels for both standard products & competitor products. And document taste panels in line with Company procedures.
* Liaising with Technical department on all issues regarding product consistency, safety, quality & legality.
* Advises and guides other team members and other departments on scientific/technical matters, as necessary.
* Maintains safe working environment by practicing and coaching in established safety procedures.
* Any other duties as requested by the Project Manager that is deemed to be within your capability.
Requirements
* Degree or HNC/D in a food related discipline
* It's expected that to be fully effective in this role, you will already be able to demonstrate experience in the food industry.
* Experience of working in a demanding customer-based environment.
* A driven and flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business and the role is essential.
* Ability to apply principles of logical/scientific thinking to a wide range of problems.
* Ability to operate a variety of standard laboratory and pilot equipment and instrumentation (such as food production equipment, pH meters, balances, etc.).
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to build constructive relationships with internal clients and outside suppliers.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
