McKesson is seeking a Senior Director of Core Finance Delivery to lead the delivery and operational excellence of enterprise finance functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury capabilities. This role establishes and scales a high‑performing Core Finance delivery capability, including organization design, hiring, onboarding and continuous capability development.
Key Responsibilities
Own end‑to‑end delivery accountability across initiatives, including business case realization, timelines, cost and quality of outcomes.
Define and implement the Core Finance delivery operating model, including governance, service management and ways of working aligned to enterprise standards.
Lead a build‑and‑transform agenda, modernising legacy processes and platforms while embedding automation, AI and data‑driven improvements to drive efficiency and cost reduction.
Proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies and trade‑offs across complex, multi‑vendor environments to ensure predictable and resilient execution.
Own financial performance of the delivery function, including budget management, vendor commercials and continuous improvement in unit cost and productivity.
Act as a trusted partner to Finance leadership to align technology capabilities with business priorities.
Work collaboratively with business to define and execute the delivery strategy and roadmap for the core finance functions such as AP, AR and Treasury.
Establish and monitor KPIs, service levels and operational metrics to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as SOX, audit and security.
Drive continuous improvement and automation across AP, AR, Treasury etc. processes.
Lead and develop a team of finance technology professionals and delivery partners.
Manage system integrators, managed service providers and technology vendors.
Collaborate across Technology, Finance, Audit and business units to drive adoption and alignment.
Manage resource planning and delivery outcomes for core finance initiatives.
Proactively identify risks, dependencies and trade‑offs; implement mitigation strategies.
Provide clear, concise updates to executive leadership on progress, risks and business impact.
Drive standardisation, simplification and process discipline across core finance domains.
Oversee system integrations with procurement, billing, banking, reporting and analytics platforms.
Ensure high‑quality execution across design, build, testing, deployment and post‑go‑live stabilization.
Required Skills
12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles supporting core finance or ERP delivery.
Proven experience leading finance technology implementations or transformations.
Good understanding of AP, AR, Treasury, cash management and working capital processes.
Experience managing vendors, system integrators and distributed teams.
Experience building and scaling delivery capabilities, including organisation design, hiring and development of high‑performing teams.
Demonstrated accountability for end‑to‑end delivery outcomes, including business case realisation, cost management and benefits tracking.
Experience operating in multi‑vendor and managed service environments, with accountability for service quality and performance.
Proven track record delivering large‑scale transformation programmes involving legacy modernisation, platform consolidation and process simplification.
Experience applying automation, AI or digital technologies to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance operational outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives in large enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of finance operations, controls and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive‑level engagement.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Education / Certifications / Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or Business Administration.
SAP Finance certification preferred.
PMP or similar certification preferred.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Background in distribution, or regulated industries.
Experience driving automation in AP/AR (e.g. invoicing, payments, collections).
Good understanding of regulatory requirements such as IFRS9, SOX controls, audit processes and compliance frameworks.
Delivering finance analytics and reporting capabilities.
Ability to operate effectively in large‑scale, matrixed organisations.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
€118,600 – €197,600
In addition to base pay, other compensation such as an annual bonus or long‑term incentive opportunities may be offered. Compensation is determined by performance, experience and skills, and is compliant with applicable regulations.
