* The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety by leading the decontamination process across all areas of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
">
* Drive and support the implementation of national standards for decontamination, EU directives, EU standards, JAG standards, and quality systems for medical devices.
* Provide clear leadership to personnel working in decontamination and plan, implement, and monitor ISO quality management systems.
* Ensure that decontamination processes are applied and maintained in all units, including theatres, endoscopy, urology, radiology, and pain services.
* Contribute to service development through continuous education, research initiatives, and staying up-to-date with new developments in hygiene and decontamination strategies.
* Develop an education plan for all decontamination personnel and ensure effective safety procedures are developed and managed.

Eligibility Criteria:
">
* Registered in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives.
* 5 years post-registration nursing experience and 2 years recent nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM2 in an acute setting.
* Postgraduate qualification at not less than level 8 (QQI) in healthcare or management-related area.

Desirable qualifications include a postgraduate qualification in decontamination or willingness to undertake same, as well as a management course.
