(Athlone, Ireland) part-time, 30 hours per week

We’re currently recruiting for a Local Area Employment Service Caseworker to join our fantastic team in an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in this influential role.Our ideal candidate may have a sales, recruitment or employability background or have worked in an environment that involves advising and guidance. Location: Athlone
Hours: 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of clients, reviewing their progress towards employment and maintaining engagement to achieve personal and team targets.
* Assess individual client needs providing support, careers advice and guidance, and work with them to create a personal progression plan.
* Meet with clients regularly to review their progress.
* Undertake interventions on a one-to-one basis and run sessions for groups of clients covering a wide range of subjects from CV workshops to online job searching, as well as working with local employers acting as an intermediary for your clients.
* Build individual and professional relationships, working effectively with clients who have different needs.
* Deliver an exceptional level of customer service at all times.
* Source and manage working relationships with 3rd party providers, complementary provision and employers.
* Liaise with both clients and employers to agree the appropriate 'in-employment' support required.
* Coordinate training, resources and support to enable clients to overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their aims.
* Record all contact with clients and ensure 100% compliant use of systems and tools.
Skills and Experience
* Leaving Certificate standard (as a minimum). A level 7 qualification or working towards is desirable but not a pre-requisite.
* Minimum of two years’ experience in an employment activation, recruitment, training, career coaching or counselling role, preferably with long term unemployed clients farthest from the labour market.
* Previous knowledge of and experience in addressing long term, social and economic unemployment factors and barriers, that may present themselves, such as Mental health, Addiction, homelessness, literacy, lack of confidence, motivation and routine, as well as factors such as, generational differences and personal circumstances.
* Excellent influential and persuasion skills to constructively confront client barriers.
* Operational experience working in a client facing environment delivering a professional ‘people’ service end to end.
* Be fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes.
