Process Optimization Lead
This role involves overseeing the improvement of processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage multiple significant projects through project management offices.
* Provide technical leadership from an engineering perspective.
* Continuously improve the performance of processes.
* Implement lean manufacturing within production.
* Interface with materials science, design, and quality assurance departments to deliver quality products on time.
* Drive process troubleshooting with support team members and external agents.
* Develop structured problem-solving ability.
* Provide development and guidance for assigned co-op students, technicians, operators, and engineers.
* Lead manufacturing engineers and technicians as required.
* Develop and implement process optimization equipment.
* Work as part of a cross-functional team to ensure system integration is considered on all systems.
* Collaborate with engineers, QA, and ops to embed testing into development and validation.
* Lead failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and review the development of safety data sheets (SDS), equipment manuals etc.
* Validate systems with other engineers.
* Define and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to ensure robust processes.
* Own requirements and design reviews to provide input from a testability perspective.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience.
* Proven project management skills through business critical project delivery.
* Minimum 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Technical leadership and direction to engineers, co-op students, technicians, and operators.
* Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic, and results-motivated environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, process improvement orientation, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrable technical expertise, willingness to source technological advances, and effective decision-making skills are essential.
