At Elk Recruitment, we are seeking a driven Design Lead to join our client’s growing team in Kilkenny. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Lead to make a significant impact within an innovative and expanding organization.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the design team produces drawings and documents, delivering the design brief and deliverables using your technical building expertise.
2. Collaborating with the Design Manager/Project Engineer Manager to complete project designs, ensuring all quoted requirements are incorporated.
3. Reviewing specifications and documentation to ensure timely completion of all design deliverables, proposing cost-effective products and solutions that meet specifications.
4. Checking design drawings, documents, and procurement schedules with the Project Manager/Engineer before issue.
5. Reporting to supervisors/team leaders to meet deadlines and ensure accurate and efficient project details.
6. Updating documents in coordination with project management teams as necessary.
7. Compiling and issuing handover documentation appropriately.
8. Providing bills of materials and information to procurement for material orders.
9. Visiting sites to troubleshoot, verify constructability, and record survey data.
10. Issuing documents to clients upon request.
11. Liaising with clients and stakeholders for smooth handover of the design package.
12. Producing technically sound architectural deliverables (drawings, specifications, schedules) using Revit, adhering to project standards and schedules.
13. Ensuring all design work complies with standards and is feasible to build, contributing to architectural standards and solutions development.
14. Planning resources for projects ahead of schedule and project kickoff where possible.
Required experience and qualifications:
* Level 7 or 8 Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or equivalent (desired).
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* BIM Qualification (desired).
* Ability to build rapport with clients.
* Strong problem-solving skills and proactive leadership.
* Organized with high attention to detail.
* Project Management qualification/diploma (desired).
* Proficiency in design software such as Revit and Navisworks.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines independently.
* Teamwork capability.
