Optilase is seeking a Clinic Coordinator to join our Cork Clinic. We are looking for a dedicated Clinic Coordinator to provide exceptional patient care and ensure the smooth operation of clinic reception and administrative tasks. This role is integral to creating a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining efficiency and high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Patient Experience & Front Desk Management
* Greet and welcome patients for consultations and surgical appointments, ensuring a professional and friendly atmosphere.
* Manage patient flow in the waiting area, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
* Handle inbound and outbound patient calls, providing excellent customer service.
* Respond to patient queries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
Administrative & Appointment Management
* Maintain and update electronic patient records, including scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
* Process patient payments securely and efficiently.
* Oversee email management and coordinate patient communications.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
Surgical Support & Patient Care (Following appropriate training and supervision)
* Conduct pre-operative scans and assessments to support surgical procedures.
* Provide post-operative care instructions and escort patients safely within the clinic.
Team Collaboration & Compliance
* Work closely with clinic team members, including Optometrists and the Clinic Manager, to ensure seamless operations.
* Adhere to all policies, procedures, and quality standards, actively identifying and suggesting improvements.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, risk mitigation, and patient safety programmes.

Required Qualifications & Experience
* Previous customer service experience is essential.
* Experience in a patient-facing role is highly desirable.
* Previous experience working in a clinic or healthcare setting is an advantage.
* Reception or administrative experience is beneficial.
* Experience in a call centre environment (inbound or outbound) is an added advantage.
* Previous optical experience preferred
