Role: Senior Physiotherapist
Location: North Dublin
Contract Type: 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours/week) Permanent
Salary: €63,279 – €74,509 per annum (pro rata, commensurate with experience)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team on a Permanent Part time Basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development and delivery of a high-quality, client-centred physiotherapy service.
Job Purpose:
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care through expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of complex conditions. The role involves clinical leadership, service development, and education of junior staff and students, ensuring evidence-based practice and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Provide expert physiotherapy assessment, clinical diagnosis, and management of patients with a range of complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Manage and prioritise referrals, ensuring timely and effective delivery of physiotherapy services.
- Participate in the weekend rota and support flexible working arrangements as required.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Ensure a high-quality, coordinated physiotherapy service that aligns with best practice guidelines.
Leadership & Management:
- Play an active role in the management, development, and mentoring of qualified and undergraduate physiotherapists.
- Contribute to the operational and strategic development of the physiotherapy service.
- Participate in policy development, service evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure robust data collection and analysis to monitor service performance, standards, and outcomes.
Education & Research:
- Provide clinical supervision and reflective learning support to undergraduate physiotherapy students.
- Promote and engage in continuing professional development (CPD), including achieving 30 CPD points annually as required by CORU.
- Lead and participate in internal education programmes and contribute to a culture of learning and clinical excellence.
- Stay abreast of emerging evidence and national guidelines to inform and evolve clinical practice.
Person Specification:
Qualifications (Essential):
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy (Level 8)
- Registered member of CORU
Desirable:
- Membership of ISCP
- Postgraduate education/experience in medical, surgical rehab, or care of the elderly
- Teaching/tutoring experience
Experience (Essential):
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate physiotherapy experience
Desirable:
- Hospital-based physiotherapy experience
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff or students
Skills:
- Strong clinical and theoretical physiotherapy knowledge
- Leadership, time management, and delegation skills
- Ability to contribute to service planning and development
- Proficient in audit, evaluation, and research
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and IT skills
