Description We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Risk Team within AXA's Risk Management Function as a Risk & Assurance Officer.

You will spend at least 40% of your workweek away from home, transitioning to a majority of your time in this setting from September 2025.
This includes attending our office locations, visiting clients, or participating in industry events.
As a Risk & Assurance Officer reporting to the Senior Operational Risk Officer, your primary focus will be to develop and maintain a robust Operational Risk Framework that aligns with AXA Group standards, ensuring our adherence to industry best practices.
The main responsibilities will involve: Customer-Centric Approach: Place the customer at the forefront of our operations, utilizing insights, data, and sound judgment to enhance their experience and foster a customer-first culture.
Service Improvement: Lead initiatives to simplify and digitize customer services, driving positive outcomes by leveraging data to identify customer behavior, friction points, and areas for enhancement.
Compliance Standards: Uphold all conduct standards under CBI regulations.
Assurance Planning: Collaborate with the Operational Risk Manager to plan and execute the annual Assurance Plan, prioritizing high-risk areas while ensuring comprehensive coverage across AXA Ireland.
Review Management: Oversee individual reviews, delivering clear reports with actionable recommendations agreed upon with senior management, ensuring timely resolutions.
Action Tracking: Implement a system to monitor the status of recommended actions from assurance reviews, providing regular updates to the Assurance Manager.
Team Development: Support team members through skill development and capacity-building initiatives.
Control Assessment: Offer guidance on the design, development, and evaluation of controls throughout AXA Ireland.
Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships within the business to proactively identify potential control or risk management issues, driving improvements in processes and projects.
Operational Risk Requirements: Assist in fulfilling annual Group Operational Risk requirements, including loss data collection, risk assessment, and reporting.
Data Collection Oversight: Control and supervise the loss data collection process and local risk register assessments.
Coordination of Activities: Align operational risk management efforts across all business functions.
Risk Quantification: Model operational risks and incorporate them into the local Short Term Economic Capital (STEC) charge.
Reporting and Participation: Contribute to reports for the Local Forum/Committee, actively engage in operational work-streams, and attend quarterly management Risk Forums.
Resource Management: Lead and manage resources to efficiently meet financial targets, overseeing planning, forecasting, and budget management.
Qualifications APA qualification (preferably both Personal & Commercial) is essential with a commitment to progress to CIP.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years in a financial services environment, with exposure to Audit, Internal Controls, Compliance, or regulatory matters, and a solid understanding of key processes and controls.
Legislative Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Code, Data Protection Acts, and Solvency II, as well as other regulatory requirements from the Central Bank of Ireland or FCA.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong influencing and challenging skills to drive compliance behaviour across all organizational levels.
Organizational Skills: Well-organized, highly motivated, and results driven.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in PC applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
Qualifications: A qualification in audit or risk management is desirable, such as an Audit Qualification, ACOI Diploma in Risk Management, Internal Audit & Compliance, or ACOI Professional Certificate in Compliance.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
