Job Title: Senior Culinary Team Member
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our high-volume kitchen team in Galway. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with the overall management of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards, and that service runs smoothly during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, development, and daily specials
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations
Ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation are met at all times
Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes, managing your section during service
Assist with stock control, ordering, and maintaining kitchen inventory
Ensure that kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards are consistently met
Lead and train junior staff, helping them improve skills and work efficiently
Take full charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring continuity and quality of service
Maintain and ensure proper use of kitchen equipment
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role in a high-volume kitchen
Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and efficient working environment
Experience with grill and seafood preparation is highly desirable
