This is an exciting opportunity to shape the sound of some of Ireland's most important and engaging podcasts.As an audio producer focused on editing, you will work closely with other producers, reporters and contributors to craft podcast episodes that are clear, compelling, and of the highest technical and editorial standard.
You will be responsible for editing, mixing and sound designing episodes, ensuring consistency and quality across our audio offerings.
Key ResponsibilitiesEdit and mix podcast episodes with clarity, narrative flow, and journalistic rigour.Apply editorial judgement to improve the structure and storytelling of audio content, particularly when dealing with complex subject matter.Record interviews and podcast sessions both in our Dublin studio and remotely.Operate and maintain the in-house podcast studio and equipment.Assist remote guests and contributors in capturing high-quality audio.Collaborate with other producers, journalists and editors to shape audio content from planning to publication.Ensure consistent sound quality and branding across all Irish Times podcasts.Add appropriate music, sound beds, and other audio elements to enhance listener experience.Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality. Essential Skills and ExperienceAt least five years' experience in professional sound production, with a strong portfolio of audio work.Advanced proficiency in audio editing software such as Pro Tools and/or Adobe Audition.Excellent dialogue editing skills, with the ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure.Strong understanding of podcast production workflows, including recording, editing, mixing, and publishing.High editorial standards and sensitivity to tone, clarity, and audience engagement.
