Job Description Urban Health Café is seeking a Specialist Chef with expertise in Brazilian cuisine to join our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is a specialist culinary position focused on the preparation, development, and execution of authentic Brazilian dishes that reflect traditional techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding and maintaining a culturally authentic menu offering that is not widely available within the local labour market.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Brazilian dishes using traditional methods and recipes Develop and refine Brazilian-inspired menu items aligned with Urban Health's health-focused ethos Ensure authenticity of flavours, techniques, and presentation specific to Brazilian cuisine Source and advise on specialist ingredients required for Brazilian cooking Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation Oversee preparation planning and quality control for Brazilian menu offerings Train and guide other kitchen staff in Brazilian cooking techniques where required Contribute specialist culinary knowledge to menu planning and seasonal changes Essential Requirements Demonstrable professional experience preparing authentic Brazilian cuisine In-depth knowledge of Brazilian cooking techniques, ingredients, and traditional dishes Ability to independently manage preparation and execution of specialist menu items Experience working in a professional kitchen environment Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP standards Ability to work full-time on a permanent basis Desirable Formal culinary training with a focus on Brazilian or Latin American cuisine Experience contributing to menu development Experience working in cafés or restaurants with a health-focused or international food concept
