Ballyfin is a 5-star luxury country house hotel in the heart of Ireland at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. In 2024, we are one of only two Irish properties to be awarded 3 Michelin Keys by the Michelin Guide. The Ballyfin Estate spans 614 acres and is full of history, tranquility and great natural beauty. With only 20 bedrooms, and a private one bedroom Gardeners Cottage, the house has long been admired as the most lavish Regency mansion in Ireland. Ballyfin opened in May 2011 after 8 years of development.
Description
We are excited to announce this amazing opportunity for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our One Star Michelin Star Restaurant. Ballyfin Demesne proudly holds 3 Michelin Keys for our fabulous property located at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Co. Laois. We are also the proud recipient of a Michelin star for our fine dining restaurant headed by our talented chef, Richard Picard Edwards. Our Guest Experience is of the utmost importance, and exceptional customer service is a must. We are looking for a hardworking individual who has previous experience working in a Michelin-star restaurant. The successful candidate will have a passion for food and beverage, exceptional customer service and teamwork. This is a full-time, permanent position, 5 days over 7 days, Monday to Sunday. The position is for our dinner service, so the shift will be approximately 4 pm to closing.
Responsibilities
* As a chef de rang, deliver exceptional service and ensure a memorable dining experience for guests.
* Welcome guests to the restaurant and show them to their table.
* Explain the menu, order of service and answer any questions that guests may have.
* Take orders of food and beverage, ensuring no errors are made and all dietary requirements are confirmed.
* Liaise with the kitchen team and chefs as required.
* Work as part of a team; assist and train colleagues as needed.
* Communicate the details of each dish to guests and answer any questions.
* Serve and clear plates and cutlery as required.
* Work with the F&B team and Kitchen to ensure clear communication to enhance the guest experience.
* Develop a strong knowledge of Ballyfin offerings including history, food, beverage, and activities.
The Ideal Candidate
* At least one year of previous experience in a fine-dining or Michelin-star restaurant.
* Mature and charismatic individual.
* Excellent communicator and team player.
* Friendly and approachable manner.
* Genuine passion for food, beverage and hospitality.
