The Finance competency at EY focuses on providing expert guidance and support to clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, managing and analysing finance and risk data, and implementing finance transformation initiatives.
Our goal is to drive the finance functions' effectiveness, agility and value contribution within the client's organisation through integration of new technologies, optimisation of processes and adoption of innovative practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Have a proven track record, leading large and complex (multi-year / multi-million) finance transformations end-to-end.
Build valuable relationships with clients and develop a delivery track-record recognised throughout the market.
Deliver key strategic business transformations for Financial Services clients, ensuring service quality on one or more engagements at a time, leveraging knowledge and sector experience to deliver Business, IT and Regulatory-driven transformations.
Manage overall business transformation end-to-end within the scope, quality, time and budget terms of reference and in accordance with EY and client delivery standards.
Collaborate with programme teams, EY Partners, client leaders, operational risk and internal audit teams.
Own the delivery relationship with the client.
Provide leadership and guidance to the overall delivery team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Represent the programme at client governance sessions at an ExCo level and EY internal meetings.
Manage costs, forecasts and actuals and oversee the master resource list.
Leverage EY's capabilities in our Business, Technology, People and Risk Consulting practices and share global knowledge.
Lead business development activities, including proposals, thought leadership and client events.
Ensure operational metrics for utilisation, timesheet and engagement management processes are met.
Coach people to navigate their careers at EY and support their personal development and performance management processes.
Define client needs and approach to solving complex engagements, recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
Produce sharp and concise documents and deliver presentations to C-Suite client level.
Manage difficult C-Suite client stakeholders, providing comfort and reassurance.
Lead complex engagements from inception to completion, coordinating with client strategic objectives.
Manage engagement revenue and billing associated with the programme / project.
Mentor colleagues to achieve their career goals and build high-performing, cross-sub-service line teams.
Translate client needs into EY commercial solutions that deliver differentiated outcomes.
Own, develop and maintain senior client relationships, presenting insights and innovations.
Ensure Service Quality best practices and standards are delivered on schedule and with planned margin.
Mentor delivery teams with practical experience of Business Transformations.
Create thought leadership pieces, including public blogs, interviews and speaking at industry conferences.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Finance matters and stay abreast of emerging business and industry trends.
To Qualify for the Role
12+ years senior level experience in consulting and delivery of large-scale complex change programmes.
Strong financial background including business case development and financial governance.
Strong market focus with a proven ability to identify and build new opportunities and client relationships, and to write and shape proposals.
Experience managing senior stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and robust advice to senior management including C-suite.
Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit a mix of audiences.
Deep functional expertise with relevant accreditation in allocated programme/domain (e.g., Credit, Risk, Finance).
Proven track record of delivering business value.
Track record of delivery within large-scale Finance Transformation programmes, taking ownership of delivery across internal client teams.
Experience aligning business and IT, operating across organisational and technology silos to drive common approaches and deliver sustainable, agile solutions.
Excellent technology knowledge covering current trends and best practice consulting, complemented by strong finance functional and operational understanding.
Forward-thinking, self-motivated, thriving on new challenges and quickly adapting to learning new knowledge.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage a team of junior consulting professionals.

Advanced proficiency in using Excel and other tools to analyse and translate data into insights, develop basic financial models and support business case development.
Deep knowledge and experience to solve the most complex problems; recognized as a leader and innovator in the skill domain.
