Summer Teacher Responsibilities
For a three-month period during the summer session, Summer Teachers will:
1. Instruct courses recognized by the New York State Education Department.
2. Prepare or modify curriculum and course outlines.
3. Develop daily or weekly lesson plans and conduct formal instruction sessions for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facility.
4. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Minimum Qualifications for Each Level
Teacher 2: New York State provisional, initial, or conditional initial certification in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 3: New York State permanent or professional certification in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 4: New York State permanent or professional certification in the appropriate specialty and at least two years of post-certification teaching experience in the same specialty.
