Staff Nurse -In patient Surgical/Medical Wards
for a reputed hospital in
Dublin, Ireland
.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients admitted to surgical and medical wards, including monitoring vital signs and assessing patient conditions.
Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, including preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately.
Perform wound care, dressing changes, and basic clinical procedures as per protocol.
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Support patients with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and rehabilitation needs.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication, and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
Ensure compliance with infection control standards, health, and safety policies.
Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and assist in resuscitation if required.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with [e.g., NMBI / NMC or relevant board]
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical/surgical wards preferred
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a plus
must have 1 year or more experience in an Acute Irish Hospital
Irish Healthcare experience essential.
Fully registered with the NMBI essential.
