Title: Export Trade Development Manager Location: Dublin Type: Full-time, permanent, site-based (occasionally requires travel to client sites) Package: €Neg + Bonus, Mileage & Pension Leading global shipping line now seeks an Export Trade Development Manager for their South Dublin offices. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, ambitious and have a proven track record working in a fast-paced environment. The role represents a real opportunity to an individual who thrives in a dynamic, busy environment. As an integral part of a strong commercial team, the successful candidate will work closely with the local Trade manager on a 50:50 split between Account Management and New Business Development. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and managing the Export Trades on a commercial basis, while maintaining an operational overview and adhering to our agreed pricing policies and intermodal strategy to achieve set Trade Budgets. This is predominantly an office-based role with only one day anticipated on the road attending client sites. The key tasks for the Trade Development Manager are as follows: Key Responsibilities: Promote and maintain a sea freight pricing policy in conjunction with senior commercial management within the company and headquarters. Implement and communicate current pricing policies to the internal sales teams. Maintain pricing strategy for clients and report to the commercial director. Prepare commercial budgets in conjunction with management and head office. Manage approved commercial budgets ensuring forecasts and position are on track. Target new business accounts on all export Trades together with the commercial teams and global agents overseas. Prepare weekly performance and statistic reports to the commercial management and head office. Support export documentation managers ensuring client needs are completed successfully by the export and commercial departments. Develop and grow the existing customer portfolio alongside future key-account programs. Attend client site visits weekly promoting the core services, added value services, and maximizing customer relationships. Attending overseas European Trade meetings throughout the year. Experience, Skills & Education: Minimum five years experience within the local container shipping line or sea freight forwarding industry. A bachelors degree or higher in a business-related discipline Experience in developing commercial export sales processes and systems in the local market. Global international experience within the export shipping industry, clients, and markets. A key negotiator when engaging with existing and prospective clients. Ability to create business development plans to secure export sales. Creative in developing, promoting, and delivering improvement strategies within commercial teams. Effective leadership and communications skills to guide, manage and motivate a small commercial team of three. Outstanding geographical awareness. Excellent mathematical ability and understanding of currency fluctuations. First class organizational skills High standard verbal and written communication skills Ability to work to tight deadlines. Full clean driving license. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
