The Role.
GMC Utilities Group is seeking an experienced Commercial and Compliance Administrator to support our operations in Dublin.
We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds including:
* Quantity Surveying
* Engineering (Civil / Utilities)
* Construction or Project Administration
* Finance or Commercial Administration
* Contracts or Compliance Administration
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Subcontractor Onboarding and Compliance
* Coordinate the onboarding process for subcontractors across multiple projects.
* Review and verify compliance documentation including insurance, safety, tax, and contractual requirements.
* Maintain and manage a centralised subcontractor compliance register.
* Monitor expiry dates and compliance status, ensuring continuity of cover and certification.
* Liaise with subcontractors to obtain updated documentation and resolve compliance gaps.
Cross-Functional Governance Support
* Work closely with Finance, Project Management, Operations, HSQE, and Insurance to ensure subcontractor readiness prior to engagement and payment approval.
* Support internal stakeholders in verifying documentation prior to subcontractor mobilisation.
* Assist in reviewing subcontract terms relating to risk, indemnities, and liability provisions.
* Support risk identification and escalate issues where required.
Insurance & Risk Administration (One Element of the Role)
* Review subcontractor insurance documentation to ensure contractual compliance.
* Maintain records of company-wide insurance policies and renewal dates.
* Assist with insurance renewals and claims documentation where required.
Process Improvement & Reporting
* Maintain structured document control systems.
* Prepare compliance and risk status reports for management.
* Identify opportunities to streamline onboarding, automate tracking, and modernise compliance workflows.
* Contribute to the development of improved governance processes and digital systems.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
* Proven experience in a Contracts Administrator, Insurance Administrator, Finance Administrator, or similar role.
* Previous experience within the construction or utilities industry is essential.
* Strong understanding of construction-related insurance policies and contractual risk transfer mechanisms.
* Experience reviewing contracts with a focus on insurance clauses, indemnities, and liability provisions.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors, brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Knowledge of standard construction contract forms.
* Experience supporting insurance renewals and claims administration.
