Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Bioprocess Engineer, Specialist. This position will be part of the MS&T Bioprocess Engineering Upstream team at our state of the art, single-use multi-product biotech facility at Dunboyne Biologics.
What you will do:
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
* Providing technical leadership for new product introduction, in support of clinical and commercial campaigns
* Direct input to the technology transfer team/sub-team, and execution of supporting activities in the operations suites
* Development of strategies for technical studies, and the execution of process and cleaning validation programs.
* Acting as process Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the support of process investigations.
* Identification of innovation opportunities, support process optimisation projects including yield improvement and/or cycle time optimisation
* Use of risk management techniques to identify risks and develop mitigation actions.
* Lead technical studies/ projects on site and play a key role in the coaching and development of the MS&T and Manufacturing teams.
* Maintain continuous focus on quality and safety compliance, in addition to operational excellence in the implementation of improvements & solutions.
* Responsible for the use of process engineering systems and approaches for equipment design, specification and performance, generation of technical reports, process modelling, risk management and integration of process equipment systems.
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
* Minimum of a bachelor’s Level 8 degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, Science or equivalent) with 3-5 years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
* Technical understanding of biological drug substance upstream unit operations.
* Experience in clinical or commercial technology transfer activities desired.
* Process validation and cleaning validation experience desired.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and knowing when to escalate for resolution.
* Flexible and self-motivated, with proven ability working cross functionally delivering technical solutions to issues.
