Job Title: Underground Cables Specialist
The primary objective of this role is to oversee the lifecycle management of underground cables, encompassing design standards, material specifications and functional requirements. This involves developing and maintaining comprehensive guidelines for cable network development from 400 kV transmission voltage down to low-voltage service cables connecting customer premises.
This position demands a deep understanding of cable asset management, with experience in either managing an engineering team or holding a key specialist role in this area. Strong analytical skills are essential for providing expert support to project delivery teams during fault response work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cable Standardization: Develop standards and specifications for the entire lifecycle of underground cables from 400 kV down to LV networks ensuring all customer connection, system improvement, asset replacement maintenance and fault response requirements are met up to 2035.
2. Risk Assessment: Support the Asset Manager in evaluating ESB Networks' main risks related to public safety staff safety environmental legal/regulatory reputation continuity areas.
