The role
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain standard costs for products and services.Perform variance analysis and provide insights to operations and supply chain teams.Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with cost-related entries and reconciliations.Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.Analyze cost trends and KPIs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions.Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.Support internal and external audits with cost accounting documentation and analysis.Maintain accurate records and documentation for cost accounting processes.Collaborate on ERP system enhancements related to cost accounting.Identify and implement process improvements to streamline cost accounting workflows and improve data accuracy.Support the Controller in driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Crane Business System.QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.High integrity and alignment with Crane’s core values and ethical standards.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA or CMA certification preferred.Master’s degree is a plus.BenefitsCompelling cash and non‑cash benefits package.Comprehensive health and wellness incentives.Assistance with retirement savings.Paid time off and paid holidays.Tuition reimbursement.Performance‑based bonus programs for certain positions.Career DevelopmentAll associates receive an annual development plan that includes a mixture of on‑the‑job coaching and formal training experiences to support individual development needs.
