Description
Based in Bray or Arklow Administration Offices
Hybrid working options available
Are you someone who loves bringing order to complexity, supporting people, and helping an organisation do things the right way? Sunbeam House Services is looking for a Data Protection Coordinator to join our team and play a vital role in safeguarding the rights, privacy, and trust of the people we support.
This is a warm, people‑centred organisation where your work genuinely matters — and where you’ll be part of a collaborative, values‑driven community.
Why This Role Matters
You’ll be the organisational heartbeat behind GDPR, FOI and information governance activities — ensuring that good practice isn’t just written in policies, but lived in everyday work.
As the job description states, you will “support the Data Protection & Freedom of Information Officer in the day‑to‑day coordination, administration, and implementation of data protection and freedom of information activities across Sunbeam House Services.” Your work helps protect people’s rights, strengthens trust, and supports high‑quality services.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go‑to person for coordination, organisation, and practical support across all things data protection:
Operational GDPR Support — helping maintain ROPAs, DPIAs, data sharing agreements, and tracking actions from audits.
Subject Access & FOI Requests — logging, tracking, coordinating responses, and preparing documentation.
Incident & Breach Administration — acting as the first point of contact, gathering facts, documenting issues, and escalating promptly.
Training & Awareness — coordinating GDPR/FOI training and supporting staff with everyday data protection queries.
Information Governance Support — working closely with ICT and Records teams on secure handling, retention, and minimisation.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement — helping compile dashboards, KPIs, and audit materials.
You’ll never be expected to act as the DPO — the role is clearly defined as supportive, not statutory.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is organised, thoughtful, and committed to doing things right.
Qualification or experience in Data Protection, Information Governance, Compliance, Administration, Legal, Healthcare or Social Care
Practical knowledge of GDPR and Irish data protection law
Excellent organisational and documentation skills
Strong communication and stakeholder‑support abilities
High discretion and respect for confidentiality
Full driving licence and access to a car
Experience in healthcare, disability, or regulated services
Familiarity with FOI processes
Experience supporting audits or compliance programmes
Experience working with ICT or records management teams
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, ICT, People & Culture, Managers, Administration and Quality Teams — all while being supported directly by the Data Protection & FOI Officer.
Our Commitment to You
Sunbeam House Services is deeply committed to equality, dignity, and inclusion. We value the unique background, experience, and perspective each person brings. You’ll join a workplace where you can grow, contribute, and be yourself.
Sunbeam House Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer
