Key Responsibilities Underwrite commercial business in line with agreed standards, limits, and underwriting authority to achieve planned financial outcomes.
Contribute to the growth and development of the Commercial Lines portfolio through new business acquisition while maintaining strong risk selection standards.
Apply underwriting discipline through continuous monitoring of selection criteria, rating adequacy, and the effective use of variable pricing tools.
Manage referrals and queries within delegated underwriting authority, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Collaborate with team members and colleagues across the organisation to deliver high service standards to customers.
Support the development and implementation of product strategies and participate in performance reviews of selected lines of business, with a strong focus on growth and quality of risk assessment.
Demonstrate initiative within a team environment and maintain high standards of professionalism in all business interactions.
Assist in the development and mentoring of colleagues on technical insurance matters.
Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders on new business growth, opportunities, portfolio quality, internal and external trends, and market developments.
Carry out any other reasonable duties in line with business requirements.
Requirements: Professional insurance qualification at a minimum of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP); ACII desirable.
Compliance with regulatory standards under the Minimum Competency Code and Fitness and Probity requirements.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting (Property & Liability).
Proven track record of strong performance and results.
Strong technical knowledge of insurance products and underwriting principles.
Confident decision-maker with solid underwriting judgement and ability to work independently.

Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong internal and external relationships.
